DISCOVER THE PROVENCE WINE ROUTE
Spread over 3 departments in the south of France (the Var, the Bouches-du-Rhône and a small village in the Alpes-Maritimes), the Provence wine route includes no less than 8 appellations and several Provence wine routes. Among these, 3 appellations have their own dedicated wine route.
The Coteaux d'Aix en Provence wine route
The AOC Coteaux d'Aix en Provence covers 4,200 hectares of vineyards and produces mainly rosé wines. You will also find a few winegrowers who produce white and red wine, but they remain a minority. Stop at the foot of the Sainte Victoire mountain, and enjoy the breathtaking panorama.
The Côtes de Provence wine route
Much more extensive, the AOC Côtes de Provence is as vast as it is diverse. Set off to discover the vineyards of Bandol and Cassis, and follow the Mediterranean coastline. Take the opportunity to stop off in Saint-Tropez, unless you prefer the peace and quiet of the local winegrowers' estates, near the Maures or Esterel mountains.
The Var wine route
Go deep into the land of Provence and discover the Coteaux du Varois in Provence, an appellation d'origine contrôlée covering 1,700 hectares and 30 communes. You will be marked by the relief of the Saint-Baume massif, where the vines are nestled and enjoy the sun.
GEOGRAPHY OF THE WINE ROUTE IN PROVENCE
